Workshop: “Songwriting Swap”

Would you like to improve your songwriting or experience what it is like to write with other people? In this unique workshop we will explore a variety of approaches to songwriting by writing one song together and finding new inspiration in each other’s songwriting.

Have you ever wanted to make a great record but didn’t have the money to do it? In this workshop we will record, mix and master the song written in the Songwriting Swap using creative low-cost techniques.

ERIC ECKHART is a critically-acclaimed West Virginia singer-songwriter based in Berlin and co-founder of “A Headful of Bees” artist collective/record label that is dedicated to the idea of helping independent artists live sustainably using DIT (Do-It-Together) instead of DIY methods.

ROCCO WEISE is a member of Popschutz Studio collective where he is a recording, mixing and mastering engineer. He is a lifelong musician and innovator in creative recording techniques. Rocco will be a Lecturer in Music Production Software and Studio Techniques staring in September at the new Noisy Academy in Berlin.

JOVANKA v. WILSDORF is currently an Artistprofiler and Songwriter for BMG RIGHTS MANAGEMENT. Born in Hamburg, JOVANKA moved to east Berlin 1997, where she got involved with the indi-electronic scene and took a first dive into analog synthesizer. She founded the electro-pop band QUARKS with whom she released two records at GUDRUN GUT´s cult label Monika enterprise, followed by two more records on SONY rec. One strange-Quarks-highlight: playing a concert in Vietnams biggest TV show (41 million viewers).  JOVANKA wrote the Book “Gequälte Brötchen” (Schwarzkopf&Schwarzkopf) and is founding member of the Berlin soundstudio POPSCHUTZ where she also worked as a producer.

SAM WAREING curates Sofa Salon, a monthly living room concert series, regularly tours as “Wasp Summer” via couchsurfing and car-sharing, and has helped build A Headful of Bees, a Berlin-based artist collective and record label that is dedicated to helping artists to take a DIT (Do-It-Together) approach rather than DIY.

HANS KELLET aka PRINCESSIN HANS grew up on Berlin’s punk literature and queer kabarett stages, has existed in some form since 1885 and is currently a two-human band made up of HANS KELLET and JÖRG HOCHAPFEL. Their live performances blur conventional clichés of celebrity and identity while juggling musical genres like some folks juggle knives.
