Sound Lab for Fluid Ways of Knowing
Das Sound Lab for Fluid Ways of Knowing bringt mit Sound und Sprache arbeitende Künstler*innen, die in Ghana und Deutschland leben, in einen Prozess künstlerischer Forschung zu Methoden der Fluidität, Oralität, Non-Dualität, des Prozesses und der Improvisation. Das Sound Lab läuft die gesamte Woche des Brechtfestivals, vom 10. bis 17. Februar. Dabei werden die Künstler*innen über Workshops und andere Interventionen immer wieder öffentliche Einblicke in ihre Prozesse und Arbeiten geben. Das Lab schließt seine Phase in Augsburg mit einem Konzert am 17. Februar ab und geht dann im Frühjahr in Accra weiter. Mit „Ways of Knowing“ bezieht sich das Sound Lab auf praxisbezogene, körperliche, mündlich überlieferte, traditionelle, in gelebter Erfahrung (der Arbeiter*innenklasse, im globalen Süden, in Gendertransition oder Migration etc.) erworbene Erkenntnisse. Es meint die klanglichen und sprachlichen Praktiken der Künstler*innen ebenso wie Erkenntnisse zur eigenen Verortung in gesellschaftlichen Strukturen und Handlungsfähigkeit darin.

Das Sound Lab ist eine Kollaboration zwischen Okhiogbe Omonblanks Omonhinmin (TAC Org) und Andrea Goetzke (all2gethernow e.V.) und dem Brechtfestival. Gefördert im Fonds TURN2 der Kulturstiftung des Bundes. Gefördert von der Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien.

XOIR bietet die Möglichkeit, gemeinsam mit der Sound Lab Gruppe eine fluide Praxis mit Stimme auszuprobieren und klanglich gemeinsam in Interaktion zu treten. XOIR ist ein Projekt von Colin Self.
XOIR invites you to experience and experiment with your voice in a fluid practice, together with the Sound Lab group, and sonically interact with each other. XOIR is a project by the artist Colin Self.
A more detailed description about XOIR in english: XOIR is an experimental and exploratory modality of group singing that works to actively encourage curiosity and play, resisting the professionalization and quantification of art practices. XOIR is mutable and intended for use and misuse by its participants across experience and context. XOIR is about curiosity and play, and developing horizontal learning that can work actively against the alienation caused by digital cultures and the tendencies to self-censor our imaginative practices. XOIR is a form of temporary assembly and exemplifies being autonomous together, meaning the experiences and outcomes for each participant should be non-uniform and non-hierarchical. In XOIR, there is no inside/outside, no audience, only participants. XOIR is intended to be impermanent, perpetually mutating and spawning new forms of deep listening and community organizing.

The performance forms the closing of the Sound Lab in Augsburg. It brings different thematic threads that we have explored, and artistic practices that we have experimented with together. We will show collective and individual works from the Sound Lab.
